I find this to be an amazing set of tools these guys put in place. You can skip the 'emulabel etc/emu_lab' step for now and only work with it if the resulting voice is horrible. ![]() * Make sure you define ESTDIR and FESTVOXDIR as defined in Chapter 10 of. Just speak at the same rate as the machine and things work out. I've done this several times and it works pretty well. Once things are set up, making a cluster unit voice to tell the time is a snap. + Making a cluster unit voice to tell the time Edit festvox/config/config to point ESTDIR to the speech_tools directory (i.e., the same place you pointed emu1.6 to). Copy festvox/config/config-dist to festvox/config/config. Put it anywhere (I put it in a separate directory). * Edit the padgraph/Makefile to uncomment the lines for creating the libpadgraph.so. * Run "./configure -with-tcl=/usr/local/ActiveTcl -with-estools=/home/wwalker/work/FestVox/festival/speech_tools" (you'll need to modify the estools path to point to your location, of course) * Make sure you set your LD_LIBRARY_PATH to include /usr/local/ActiveTcl/lib * Make sure you set your PATH to include /usr/local/ActiveTcl/bin Go to the lib directory where in you installed ActiveTcl (e.g., /usr/local/ActiveTcl/lib) and edit tclConfig.sh and tkConfig.sh to replace the lines with /usr/local/ActiveTcl. * When the install.sh script is done, you will need to do some patching. ![]() * When the speech_tools are done building, go to the festival directory and do a. ACTIVETCL PLEASE RUN THE INSTALL SCRIPT PATCH* Download the FestVox cluster units patch for Festival and unpack it in the same directory as the above. Download them all into the same directory and gunzip them. Here's the steps I found that worked for me on my RedHat7.2 system: The process is not spelled out well at all and it reqired some goofing. You need to get the Festival download, the FestVox download, a package called EMU for helping with the labelling, and a Tcl/Tk that works with EMU. Setting up FestVox requires a lot of stuff. ![]() To encourage more work in this area, I thought I'd start this thread, and begin it with notes I took while setting FestVox up on my machine. There are some people in the world that have been successful moving FestVox voices to Flite, but the process is not well documented. There's still some strong interest in tools that turn FestVox voices into FreeTTS voices. ![]()
